The evening
On October 13, Winter Garden City Hall joins hundreds of landmarks around the world lighting up for Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Come stand beneath the lights with neighbors, friends and families, so people living with MBC can see, plainly, that their community is with them.
Speakers and an on-site screening are still being arranged; we'll share confirmed program details here.
Calendar invite covers the lighting, 7:00–10:30 p.m. The national broadcast is separate, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

In loving memory
Brittney was diagnosed with breast cancer at 18. For the next eleven years she lived with stage 4 disease, and chose, again and again, to turn her own hardest days into hope for others.
As an author and advocate, she spoke honestly about life with MBC and helped countless people feel less alone. She died on June 14, 2026, at 29. Her light has not gone out; it is in everyone she reached.
This year's national LightUpMBC Live broadcast will feature a special tribute to Brittney. Join Winter Garden in remembering her, and tune in at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

Meet MaryAnn
“I was diagnosed with Stage 2, ER/PR positive, HER2 negative breast cancer in 2014. After a lumpectomy, radiation and five years of Tamoxifen, my cancer returned as Stage 4 metastatic in 2019. I was fortunate to be NED for three years, but I've since had progression to several bones.”
“I had radiation to my spine and right hip. My second line of treatment is no longer working, so I'm about to receive radiation to my sacrum, both humerus bones and left hip, and then start Enhertu. It has been seven years living with MBC, and it has been challenging in so many ways.”
“I am blessed to have my wonderful husband Brian of 32 years, my daughter Emily, my son Brian, and my yellow lab Remy by my side through it all. METAvivor and #LightUpMBC continue to inspire me, and I'm excited to be part of a community that is making a difference.”
Every day, 117 people in the U.S. die of metastatic breast cancer. Funding MBC research is the only way to find a cure.
